Rainbows End

Sadly, I've not read the other entries, though I've read Stross and Flynn. Vinge is an interesting read through the years: the same themes, the same enesembles of character-types. I liked his latest book, but near-future pragmatism sometimes hinders the wonder that was in earlier Vinge. There were a couple of "dilating door" (to use a Heinleinism) moments, though: the UP/Express delivery rocket-packages, the collective culture of the Scootimoochi, and Rabbit, of course.

What about the other nominated books?
